Make Your Hair Last
Good hair is an investment. These simple routines will keep your wigs, extensions, and bundles looking salon-fresh for months, not weeks.
Wig Care
Keep your wigs looking salon-fresh with these essentials.
How to Wash
- Use a sulfate-free shampoo to preserve moisture and prevent stripping natural oils.
- Wash with lukewarm water, never hot. Heat damages the cuticle layer.
- Gently comb through with a wide-tooth comb from ends to roots before washing.
- Air dry on a wig stand to maintain the cap shape and prevent tangling.
Storage
- Store on a wig head or mannequin to maintain shape and prevent creasing.
- When travelling, keep wigs in a silk or satin bag to reduce friction.
- Avoid direct sunlight during storage. UV exposure fades color over time.
Styling
- Human hair wigs can be heat-styled up to 180°C (350°F). Stay below this to avoid damage.
- Always apply a heat protectant spray before using flat irons, curling wands, or blow dryers.
- For curls that last, set the style and allow the hair to cool completely before touching.
Extension & Bundle Care
Simple habits that dramatically extend the life of your hair.
Washing
- Wash every 1–2 weeks depending on product buildup and activity level.
- Use a moisturizing conditioner and let it sit for 3–5 minutes before rinsing.
- Do not rub the hair. Gently squeeze water through the strands to avoid matting.
Sleeping
- Wrap your hair in a silk or satin scarf every night to reduce friction.
- A satin bonnet works just as well and is easier for longer installs.
- Pineapple your hair (loose high bun) before covering to preserve curl patterns.
Detangling
- Always use a wide-tooth comb. Fine-tooth combs pull and break strands.
- Start from the ends and work your way upward in small sections.
- Apply a lightweight detangling spray or leave-in conditioner before combing.
General Tips
Universal rules that apply to all Evvy Hairs products.
- Avoid chlorinated water and salt water. Both strip moisture and cause severe dryness and tangling. If exposure is unavoidable, rinse immediately with clean water.
- Minimize heat styling to extend lifespan. Air drying and heatless curl methods keep the cuticle smooth for much longer.
- Use a leave-in conditioner after every wash to lock in moisture and reduce frizz throughout the week.
- Deep condition once a month with a protein-free mask to restore elasticity without causing buildup.
- Never sleep with wet hair. Damp hair is more fragile and prone to matting, breakage, and mildew in the weft.
